Migrate from HockeyShift
Leaving a league-website platform for a league-operations platform: what carries over, what changes, and what to do about the old site.
HockeyShift migrations usually trade a custom league website for simpler operations, a free team app, and flat pricing. Before you start, pull everything you can from your admin area — rosters, schedules, and standings — while your subscription is active. Two honest notes: our public hub is standardized (no custom news/sponsor site), and platform-recorded stat history doesn't transfer, so most leagues archive old standings and start the new season clean.
Step by step
- 1
Export from your admin area
While your HockeyShift subscription is active, export or copy rosters, the schedule, and current standings. Screenshots of standings work as archives; rosters and schedules are what the rebuild needs.
- 2
Create your rink
Sign up and claim /r/your-rink — the new public home for schedules, standings, live games, and player pages across every league you run.
- 3
Rebuild with the AI assistant
Paste rosters and the schedule (any format) into the setup assistant. It creates leagues, divisions, teams, and players in minutes, and can generate a fresh round-robin schedule for the new season.
- 4
Sort out the old website
If your HockeyShift site had news and sponsor pages, decide their future: many leagues keep a simple free site (or social page) for news and link it to their new /r/ hub, which handles all schedules, stats, and standings automatically.
- 5
Connect teams via join codes
Captains enter their team's code in the free Hockey Line app. Players get schedules, live scores, standings, lines, and player cards — most leagues find app adoption beats website bookmark adoption fast.
- 6
Go live with in-game scoring
Score at the rink and let standings, player stats, goalie numbers, and box scores publish themselves to your public hub in real time.
Typical time for the full migration: one afternoon.

Frequently asked questions
Can I transfer my HockeyShift stat history?
Platform stat history doesn't transfer between systems. Export or screenshot final standings and leaders as an archive; your new season's stats build live from game one on Hockey Line Leagues.
What replaces my league website?
Your public hub at /r/your-rink — schedules, standings, live games, box scores, and player pages, generated automatically. It doesn't do news posts or sponsor placements; leagues that need those keep a lightweight site alongside and link the hub.
Will I lose advanced stats like play-by-play?
We track goals, assists, penalties, shots by period, and goalie SV%/GAA automatically — the stats most amateur leagues use. Shift-level play-by-play and faceoff tracking aren't included, so if those are essential, we say so plainly: stay on a pro stats tier.
How does pricing change?
Instead of packages that scale with team count and stats tier, you pay one flat rate: $150/month (or $105/month billed annually) for unlimited leagues and teams, or $20/month Starter for a single small league. The team app is free for players.
